The Sperm In Me

October 24, 2007

What can I say about a man who loves me more than his life? He loves me so much to the extent that he’ll do anything just to give me all that I need – physically, emotionally, and spiritually. He, who has always been there whenever I’m on the brink of trouble or just when I needed someone to talk to. He, who cheers me up whenever my day seems bleak. He, who taught me how to open my eyes and appreciate the beauty of life despite the complexities and bedlam the world brings; and most importantly… he, who always believes in me.

He’s none other than my father, my provider, my comforter, my supporter, my protector, my mentor, and my inspiration. He is not an ideal Dad. He failed a lot of times, but never did he fail his family. He’s not rich, but he’s ready to spare even his last cent for us. He is not perfect. But there’s only one thing that I am very sure of… he is a good father.

I know he has gone through a lot of sacrifices for us. He can forget about himself but not his family. He never failed to nourish us spiritually (He’s a church minister/pastor by the way). He kept his patience long no matter how many times I tried to test it. He is the father in the parable and I’m the prodigal daughter. He makes our house a home. He is not only good to his family, but to his colleagues, friends, and to other people as well.

My father is on the other side of the world right now. And I’m missing him badly (my mom and dad must have a hard time). Christmas is fast approaching, and this will be the third Christmas without him. It’s sad, but at least, his constant calls and sms, webcam talks, and the cards he sent suppress the longing that is reigning in our hearts. I know he’s getting a hard time working abroad while he is away from his family. But he’s always optimistic; he never failed to keep on reminding us that God is good all the time. Sooner, we’ll be together again, our family will be whole again, and I’m looking forward for that day.

It’s not his birthday today, obviously not the father’s day, it’s just that I want to let the whole world know he’s the BEST and the GREATEST PAPANG IN THE WHOLE WORLD. I love him so much.

Cards
From California with love. Some of the heart-warming cards he sent; Valentines, Christmas, and even without occasion.

  1. Good for you that you were blessed with a father like that. You might have chanced reading other blogs ranting about their fathers. That’s really lucky of you.
