After the Hiatus

January 20, 2008

Yay! It’s been a looooooooooooong time since I have updated my blog. I am seeing cobwebs on my page. I was quite busy these past days… Oh, the perils of a graduating student, there’s just too much to do for my little body can take. Anyway, the loads of requirements have been lightened and there’s only a few to think and blubber about. School will soon be over…

I’m back to the world of blogging, but I wouldn’t be updating as much as I have been updating the past months. There’s a lot of things I’ve learned, a lot of things I’d like to share, and a lot of things I’d like to talk about.

But anyway, I just got my life back. I spend less hours on the computer and more hours with the real and living world. I’ve realized that there are so many things I’ve missed when spending hours and hours in front of the computer. That’s just for today, I have a lot more to blab about. :)

ATM scams: Be warned!

December 13, 2007

Automated Teller Machine (ATM) scams are very rampant nowadays, especially that the Christmas season is here. We’ve heard of these scams before, in the tube, the internet, or on the radio, yet a lot of people still fall as victims under the hands of those filthy loathsome scammers. You probably have heard a lot of complaints about ATMs unable to dispense cash yet there was a deduction on their remaining account balance and some incidents alike. Honestly, some people are just NOT VIGILANT when using the ATM and still UNAWARE about the modus operandi that’s going on with these ATMs ◄Continue reading…

Close Encounters with the Unknown Kind

December 10, 2007

Have you ever had an experience when you found yourself in a place that’s mysteriously spooky? Or have you felt something strange that send shivers down your spine when alone in an unfamiliar place? Or have you seen something out of the ordinary, eerie and sinister perhaps?

I for one honestly do not believe in bizarre ghost stories or in any of the tales of the uncanny encounters with the supernatural. I have heard a lot of such tales in different places, in different versions from different people, and I couldn’t tell whether they are true or just a product of one’s wild and creative mind.  Those stories whether they’re true or not, remained just a tell-tale for me, not until I experienced quite a few myself.

Although I haven’t seen any, not even one in their own form, perhaps there’s really an existence beyond the natural world. I know it because I’ve felt them, they’ve touched me, and they’ve even put me in a near death experience.  ◄Continue reading…

Christmas and the Forgotten Manger

December 2, 2007

Just by reading the title, I know you know what I will be talking about. Perhaps the title itself will prompt you to click the red x on the upper right corner of your screen.

I know, I know… this is boring and clichéd. No matter how banal this kind of topic can be, the fact that we REALLY DON’T BOTHER minding matters like this at all, I guess we need a bit of poking… come to think of it, maybe a light reading can lighten up our hearts especially that Christmas is in the air.

The cold December breeze is once again coming our way, the gradual charge of wind suddenly turned people surprisingly generous or should I say big cash burners. We all think of Christmas as a magical time of the year where we rush and hurry shopping for gifts to give our love ones and for ourselves as well, we eat, drink and party like there’s no tomorrow, then we gain a few extra pounds, and as expected, we tend to become nicer and be more positive in any way. This season is the reason why families gather, friends reunite, and enemies reconcile. It’s actually the most wonderful time of the year because it is the only time when we can have all the fun and spend a whole lot of money without being guilty at all. ◄Continue reading…

Bringing out the jologs in me

November 25, 2007

All this time I always thought that Filipino romantic movies are corny, trite, and unoriginal…overall crappy.

I really can’t believe how such a crappy movie made me cry. I shed no tears yet I felt my heart was throbbing in pain. ◄Continue reading…

When death stalks by

November 13, 2007

I came home tonight from a funeral wake of my friend who passed away three days ago. I wasn’t expecting, not really. He’s young, he’s fine and suddenly he was taken away. So many questions about death randomly spurted inside my head. But no matter how much I wring my thoughts, it only leaves one answer… ◄Continue reading…

Tear-jerkers

November 11, 2007

It’s a fine day Sunday. But I’m getting very mushy right now, I really don’t know why. I thought I am already over those schmaltzy love stories and videos that have been circulating over the internet, but I was wrong.

First, I came across this story again, Send My Love to Heaven. It has been one of my favorites. I’ve read it a lot of times since I was in high school, and up until now, I can’t help it… another tear rolled down my cheeks as I was reading it.

The story is not originally mine, but I really want to share it with you guys. This is just a short story, but it’s kinda long for a blog. But it doesn’t matter because it’s really worth reading… over and over again. ◄Continue reading…

Of Dancing, Public Speaking, and Photography

November 10, 2007

After our cheerdance practice at school, I was supposed to go home directly because I feel so weary and almost worn out. But for some reason I can’t explain, I decided to walk along on the other path with two of my friends who happen to be in the squad too. Along the way, they stopped at a bulletin board and read one of the posters displayed. Intrigued, I went reading with them too. I got thrilled when I found out that it was actually a nationwide photography and creative writing contest. Just for experience and plain fun, I did not hesitate nor did I have second thoughts of joining the photography contest. Besides, there’s nothing to lose.

Well, that’s how it all begun. ◄Continue reading…
