What can I say about a man who loves me more than his life? He loves me so much to the extent that he’ll do anything just to give me all that I need – physically, emotionally, and spiritually. He, who has always been there whenever I’m on the brink of trouble or just when I needed someone to talk to. He, who cheers me up whenever my day seems bleak. He, who taught me how to open my eyes and appreciate the beauty of life despite the complexities and bedlam the world brings; and most importantly… he, who always believes in me.

I simply love outdoor adventures. I love experiencing the thrill, exploring the wilderness, feeling the adrenaline rush, and bestowing myself to be one with nature. It feels great, it feels so wonderful. I am sharing this because I just want to bring you the beauty and rewards of being a mountaineer: the breath-taking sceneries, majestic sunrise, dramatic sunset, and the jaw-dropping views spelled in just three letters: W-O-W!

Each time the internet connection at home goes down, I usually go to an internet cafe to do some browsing, research, and regular checking of my mails. It would be some sort of a hell when I would log in after class hours because I would usually end up internet-cafe-hopping because there’s always no vacant unit in the shops I went in to. It doesn’t really surprise me, but it does annoy me because almost all of the shops I went in to, the kids dominate the place.
Just come to think of it, what ever happened to the children nowadays? As you can see, more and more kids are getting hooked with the computer techies. Technology is advancing, and it is true that technology will eventually have control over the lives of the people, and it is starting with the children.

I wouldn’t have known this issue if it wasn’t for the bonus question that was on my last exam; asking to write an essay regarding the line dropped by Teri Hatcher on the recent episode of a popular TV Soap Desperate Housewives, a joke about the Philippine med schools, a slur to the Filipino race.
The line goes like this “Okay. Before going further, can I check these diplomas cause I would just like to make sure that they’re not from some med school in the Philippines?” This episode was aired last September 30, 2007.
That punchline was supposed to be a joke, but a lot of Filipinos (of course) find it racist and discriminating. ◄Continue reading…
